Scrap copper can be divided into three categories according to the different stages of its production: primary scrap copper generated in the industrial production process, new scrap copper generated in the processing process, and old scrap copper generated after consumer use.

No. 1 copper wire: Level 1 includes bare, uncoated, alloy-free pure copper wire, no oxidation on the surface, no hair, and the diameter of the copper wire is not less than 1.6mm. Level 2 includes clean, colorless, uncoated, tin-free, alloy-free pure copper wire and copper cable wire, no hair and burnt brittle copper wire.

No. 2 copper wire: alloy-free scrap copper wire, containing miscellaneous materials, with a copper content of 96% (minimum content 94%). It shall not contain excessive lead and tinned copper wire, welded copper wire, brass and bronze wire, excessive oil, scrap steel and non-metal, brittle overburned wire, insulating copper wire and excessive filament wire.
